Gentrified Dallas
The images in Gentrified Dallas, 2020 are a record of the quick change happening in West Dallas. Considered a lower economic area within the large city, West Dallas has been historically populated by Latinos and African Americans. The neighborhoods run along the Trinity river, in what could be seen as a valley that is prone to flooding despite the river’s levee. As developers come in, housing prices and taxes go up, pushing current residents out and leaving them displaced. With new condos and retail buildings popping up every day, residents and small business owners do what they can to hold on to their homes and businesses. This is an ongoing series.
